Taylor & Francis has introduced a new, central resource outlining their editorial policies on the use of AI.
Updates include:
- Editorial Policies homepage: Updated AI section includes a link to the new page on using AI in in scholarly publishing.
- Plain Language Summaries: Provides guidance for authors if they are using AI tools to assist with PLS preparation.
- Standards of reporting: Highlights key research reporting guidelines where AI is part of research methodology.
- Misconduct: Updated to remind authors of types of inappropriate uses of AI in research and manuscript preparations.
- Images and figures: The use of AI to visualize research data and for artistic rendering, flow diagrams and teaching illustrations is now permitted.
- Citations: Clarifies authors’ responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the whole content, including references.
- Authorship: The use of AI tools for Copy editing, reference management, language refinement and translations is now permitted.
